Event Description

A French Mediterranean neighbourhood bistro & wine bar serving up good wine, good food and good times. Pistou is a wine bar and deli inspired by the region of Provence, in the south of France. Owner Jules Bouillon was born and raised in Provence. He says his aim when opening Pistou – the name of a condiment from the south of France that’s much like pesto – was to offer locals somewhere to come for a full lunch or dinner experience.

Il Baretto

Paddington, Sydney

60+YRS

The rustic, unpretentious Italian diner Il Baretto has moved into the Paddo Inn’s slick dining room. The menu, which you’ll still find handwritten on a roll of butcher’s paper hanging on the wall, is familiar, but has had some tweaks, too. A few of Il Baretto’s signature dishes – such as slow-cooked ragu pappardelle – still feature, alongside an expanded selection of antipasti, pasta and gnocchi. Paddo Inn patrons can also order from a bar menu of chicken cotoletta, lasagne and calamari fritte.

Ursula's Paddington

Paddington, Sydney

50-60YRS

This bistro from former Rockpool chef Phil Wood pays homage to modern Australian cuisine and the storied past of its beautiful Paddington home. "While Ursula’s is inspired by the neighbourhood bistros of Europe, it’s also extremely elegant. The room is wrapped in colour; bold caramel tones and deep blues saturate the walls and floors.Wood’s menu – gloriously illustrated in the Bemelmans-style – is full of produce-driven dishes that combine Australian flavours with classic European techniques." - Broadsheet.com.au
