Try Something New for 30 Days

March 20, 2023

Story Time

Let us tell you about a person who was very shy and awkward. Never did anything to make themselves stand out from the crowd. They were always the first person to show up to a party, yet, no one remembered they were there. One day they decided all of that needed to change. They decided they wanted to do something that people would remember them by. So they set themselves a challenge for a month. They decided that they would do something that is outside of their daily routine every day, for 30 days. This eventually became a habit and they were completely unrecognisable within 6 months' time.

Pushing your limits

Think about something that you’ve always wanted to add to your life and try it for the next 30 days.
Here’s an example of a few things you could do to change up your daily routine:

  1. Wake up at 5 am

Waking up early means you’re already ahead of everyone else.

  1. Write down your thoughts before bed

Writing before bed will improve your quality of sleep. You could write things like your goals for the following day, things that you are grateful for, and things that didn’t go as per your plans today.

  1. Practising a new skill for 30 mins a day

Starting a new hobby is a proven way to boost your ability to adapt to new situations.

  1. Spend time in nature

Nature is proven to reduce anxiety, increase happiness and improve your mood. Do this at the end of your working day to destress and reset your mood from the daily routine.

  1. Approach a stranger and have a meaningful conversation with them

We all have faced social anxiety at some stage this practice helps you fight the negative thoughts in your head that keep you from approaching people you don’t know.

  1. Take a picture every day.

Snap a photo on your phone each day of a new location or a different object and make sure there is a story behind the picture. It could be a tree that you see on your daily walk, or a car that you really like.

  1. Step out of your comfort zone.

Challenge yourself to go and speak with a person you haven’t met before, at least once a day. This will help you build social skills and get you used to speaking with strangers.

What is achieved through this?

There are a few things that will come about through this challenge. Firstly, this will allow you to gain some constructive new hobbies while also getting rid of some that are not helping your growth. Secondly, this 30-day challenge makes your time spent to become memorable instead of having your days just fly by.
The most important achievement you will gain through this is that you will notice a change in your behaviour and confidence level. As you do more challenges like this one you break the cycle in your life. This is very important for anyone looking to make changes in their lives. Remember

The definition of “insanity” is doing something over and over and expecting different results each time. - Albert Einstein

If you really want to achieve something you could do so by working towards it for 30 days and you will find that your progress towards your goal increases exponentially each month.

Give this challenge a go and watch your dreams become reality.
